The Zygmunt III Waza room
Zygmunt III Waza (1587-1632) was the king of Poland and of Sweden, of the Vasa dynasty. Crowned king at the age of 22. Days later the opposition proclaimed the brother of the emperor, Austrian archduke Maximilian III Habsburg king of Poland. However, the Great Chancellor of the Crown Jan Zamoyski took the side of the new king and defeated the Austrian army at Kraków and finally scattered them on 24 January 1588 at Byczyna.
