Aleksander (1501-1506) was the grand duke of Lithuania and the king of Poland. During his rule the sejm in Radom legalised a charted of rights called "Nihil novi", with the monarch’s promise "If we ever do anything against the freedom, privileges and rights of this kingdom, it should be considered ipso facto (automatically) illegal and nonexistent"
