The Jan Olbracht room

Jan Olbracht (1492-1501) was the son of Kazimierz Jagiellończyk and his wife Elżbieta Rakuszanka of the Habsburg dynasty. During his reign the Royal Council became the Senate and the country gathering of nobles turned into the house of representatives of the Sejm. Therefore in 15th century Poland-Lithuania became a parliamentary monarchy of noblemen. He died in Toruń but is buried in the Wawel cathedral He never married and did not issue any offspring.
