The Foundation of the Royal Castle in Niepołomice was established in May 1998 in order to protect the monuments, promote artistic activity and perform tasks that are focused on creating a Niepołomice Museum in the Castle. According to the statute, the foundation also runs a business that’s sole purpose is to fund statutory activities. In economic terms, the foundation is responsible for renting space or parts of the castle for commercial purposes, the organisation and support for tourism, and for managing marketing, cultural and training activities. Since January 2007, a luxury hotel and conference centre have been functioning within the castle grounds, under the management of the Foundation’s chairperson, Barbara Ptak. By continuing these business activities, it is possible for the Foundation to bear the expensive costs for maintaining the 14th-century monument, the Castle in Niepołomice – class ‘0’.
